Interact with clients and clinic staff to ensure efficient delivery of services. Perform check-in and check-out procedures for clients. Ensure fiscal processes comply with departmental policies and procedures. Assist community members in finding healthcare resources. Provide assistance and information to the public via telephone. Process client data and must ensure client confidentiality.

Provide direct patient interactions (ex. in person – check-in/out, through email, and over the phone)
Schedule appointments, create/update medical records, and accurately complete data entry
Utilize correct payment status for clients. Informs them of financial obligation, payment requirements, and encourages initial payment of fees at time of service
Provide accurate and up to date information to clients
Handle check-in and check-out process politely and professionally

Perform accurate and timely data entry into electronic records and assure accuracy of encounters and procedure codes.
Accurately enter data into required electronic records or systems
Audit data to verify information is correct and complete
Correct errors timely
Participate in QI project

Receive and post payments, verify receipts, and research client payment history.
Payments accurately posted to client accounts on a daily basis
Cash drawer report completed accurately
Cash report submitted per policy and procedure on a daily basis
Conduct funds accountability prior to a scheduled or foreseeable absence

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, including or supplemented by course work in bookkeeping, accounting, or related fiscal work. In order to comply with the requirements of the federal health care staff COVID-19 vaccination mandate, all employees of COMCARE and the Health Department must be fully vaccinated. All offers of employment are contingent upon submission of vaccination documentation prior to start date.
All employees may be required to wear respirators in emergency situations and for routine operations as requested. Employees will be enrolled in the respiratory protection program, which may include an annual fit testing and medical evaluation.
This is a Tier 1 position; identified as personnel who, in the event of a public health emergency, will not be working within the emergency operations center or will not be sent out to the field as responders. Tier 1 staff complete courses IS 100 and 700 within 30 days of employment. Additional ICS trainings may be required.
Bilingual individuals in English and a non-English language may take a proficiency test in the non-English language. To ensure the competence of individuals providing language assistance at the Division of Health, only those who pass the test may use their non-English language with clients with Limited English Proficiency (LEP). After hire, a bilingual employee who has passed the proficiency test may agree to take a medical interpreter skills test to interpret between a client with LEP and an English-speaking employee. Preferred Qualifications: Course work in bookkeeping, accounting, or related fiscal work. One year of experience in fiscal work, billing, and/or customer service environment. Bilingual in English and either Spanish or Vietnamese.
