MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Associates Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field or 2-3 years relevant experience
EXPERIENCE
1-3 years accounts payable experience desired.
This position is based at our Accounting offices in Montpelier. After a 4-6 month training period, employees will have the option to work from home 2 days per week, with the remaining days being on-site.
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Accounts Payable Clerk is a mixture of administrative, accounting and routine clerical work which carries a high degree of discretion to perform job functions and other related responsibilities. The Clerk manages all the phases of preparation, distribution and reporting processes for Accounts Payable.
Here are some examples of what you may be responsible for on a daily basis:
- process invoices timely and accurately
- process weekly check and ACH payment runs
- responding to vendor inquiries and reviewing vendor statements to ensure invoices are paid within terms
- maintaining open and frequent communication with our Purchasing department
- interacting with various departments throughout the entire CVMC organization along with different levels of management
BASIC KNOWLEDGE
Basic knowledge of bookkeeping principles, vendor related laws and regulations, electronic funding procedures, data processing, and computer applications to include being proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Excellent customer service skills required.
