Derby Schools AmeriCorps Tutoring Program Job at AmeriCorps
AmeriCorps members serve in Derby, Kansas elementary schools during the school year, and at one central location to provide summer programming. They receive extensive training in district resources, tutoring best practices, and behavior management. A member is placed at a single service site during the school year, may serve all grade levels at that location, either through small-group tutoring or within classrooms. The program operates year-round and provides summer programming for incoming kindergarten students, as well as kindergarten-fifth grade students.
Member Duties : AmeriCorps members will tutor kindergarten through fifth grade students in academic skills, and pre-K students in school readiness activities. They also participate in and lead service projects to strengthen the community.
