This position will work in the finance/accounting department at Daktronics. The finance/accounting team serves Daktronics stakeholders – employees, customers, vendors, shareholders, and community. Our work is focused on enabling Daktronics’ success by being trusted advisors, guiding or supporting company compliance and risk management efforts, being operationally excellent, and developing ourselves and the team. We are responsible for preparing accurate financial statements and providing useful financial information to various departments within Daktronics. As part of this responsibility, the accounting department assists in internal control design, subsidiary financial information, and other key business activities.

What are my responsibilities?
As a Financial Analyst, you will have an impact on corporate finance, FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis), and company-wide cash management and forecasting. In addition, you will create and improve global cash forecasting and analysis processes. The ideal candidate for the role is someone that has a deep understanding of cash flow in a business and can effectively report and monitor cash activities. Job duties may focus in the following areas:
- Responsible for various treasury functions including the preparation and process surrounding the 13-week and 8-quarter cash flow forecast providing the business clear guidance on inflows/outflows.
- Manage investing activities according to our policies.
- Prepare compliance certificates and reporting to banking partners.
- Provide recommendations on improving the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), cash management, reporting, and forecasting systems with a focus aligned on cash forecast reporting.
- Prepare balance sheet analysis forward looking balance sheet forecast. Evaluate forecast to actual results.
- Report key performance indicators through dashboard and other development relating to cash management and financial positions.
- Responsible for accounting for interest, financing balances, and disclosures on a monthly and quarter basis.
- Develop a comprehensive internal controls audit program that allows the business to identify and elevated risk areas surrounding cash management, investing, and forecasting. Participate in the annual external audit and engage with the auditors as needed.
Where will I be working?
This opportunity is open to U.S. based candidates. Exact working hours are flexible, but this position will be based on working during regular business hours in the Central time zone. We work remotely and ask employees to report to a corporate office a few times per year.
Qualifications:
What do I need to be qualified?
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required. Preference is to have an advanced degree in accounting or CPA (Certified Public Accounting) designation along with previous corporate treasury experience. You will also need demonstrated experience in the areas listed below:
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
- Excellent business acumen and strategic thinking.
- Strong self-motivation and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Continued willingness and desire to learn and be flexible with an evolving workload.
- Strong organizational skills including managing multiple and changing priorities with accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating collaboration with others and effective relationship development.
- Superior English language written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to following policies and procedures and maintaining confidentiality.
- Knowledge of, or aptitude to learn, business intelligence software solutions such as Reporting Services, Power BI, and Business Planning and Consolidations. SQL knowledge is beneficial, but not required.
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and/or Microsoft reporting and analytical software.
- Fluent in English, written and verbal.
- Ability to travel periodically to other Daktronics locations.
- Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked.
- Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgement.
- Ability to meet all workplace safety requirements, which includes following safety protocols related to COVID-19.
