Compass Coffee is a company dedicated to making real good coffee that makes peoples days better. We are looking to welcome a new Food Production Assistant to our Food Department. As a Food Production Assistant for Compass Coffee you will get the opportunity to be one of first on a new team that is producing artisanal breakfast sandwiches and pastries for all of our cafés!
This position will report directly to the Food Program Manager and work at our roasting facility in Ivy City.
This position combines a passion for food with an attention to detail to assemble and package breakfast sandwiches and pastries for all of our cafes. This position performs daily duties in a team setting in compliance with Food Safety and Quality, Safety and Company policies under the direction of the Food Program Manager to meet production goals.
Job Responsibilities:

• Follows all policies and procedures including but not limited to: recipe cards, ingredient mixing and cooking, product assembly, product packaging, kitchen setup, and kitchen shutdown.
• Can work independently or in a team setting to complete daily tasks that include but are not limited to: staging ingredients, inventory management, washing dishes, equipment inspections, kitchen setup and shutdown, and working with the Food Program Manager to meet production needs.
• Is able to work with a sense of urgency that sets a pace and tone for production and standardization of process.
• Is willing to work outside of the Food Department to provide support and assistance with additional tasks or duties assigned by the Food Program Manager to achieve the larger production goals of the Compass Coffee Support Team.

Job Qualifications:

• Candidate has some production experience and is able to lift 50 lbs.
• Consistent Full Time (40hrs) availability Monday-Friday with flexibility on the weekends when required.
• Food experience desired but not required.
