The General Manager is responsible for the marinas assets and operation, maintaining an efficient and profitable business. In addition to the site level responsibilities, this role is expected to support and participate in corporate strategy meetings, and initiatives. This work is performed under general direction the incumbent establishes methods and procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives and receives guidance in accordance with broad goals. Work is reviewed through reports, observation, and results achieved.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain a high level of customer service with the team, clients, and customers.
  • Hire, onboard, and train marina employees.
  • Ensure staffing levels are maintained for safe and proper operation of the facility.
  • Manage and approve employee payroll and time off requests via HR platform.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive work environment for all team members.
  • Ensure all employees are properly uniformed to comply with company standards.
  • Maintain overtime levels at no more than 1% of total wages.
  • Be present during peak marinas operation hours, which may include weekends, holidays, and marina emergencies.
  • Monitor market for rates of all revenue lines, while setting profitable pricing.
  • Review and update the marinas emergency response procedures.
  • Provide weekly written communication to client following company and clients reporting standards.
  • Prepare monthly operations and financial reports.
  • Enforce the marina rules and regulations.
  • Ensure daily docks and grounds walk are being performed and documented to identify any maintenance or safety issues.
  • Complete daily revenue reconciliation and deposits and monthly invoicing for slip payments.
  • Approve and categorize all expenses, followed by weekly submission to Oasis management.
  • Perform other work as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to respond in a timely and professional matter to all company and client phone calls, emails, and mail correspondence.
  • Skill in the operation and/or maintenance of marina equipment
  • Ability to operate the marina in accordance with all local, state, and federal laws.
  • Working knowledge of Oasis Group Holdings Incs policies and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain insurance certificates for all customers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Ability to coordinate with Oasis Marketing Team on upcoming events and marketing efforts.
  • Skill in utilizing financial forecasts and industry trends, initiate specials, promotions, or other proactive marketing.
  • Ability to participate and manage the sales, leasing, and contract management for all revenue streams including but not limited to dockage, storage, retail, and service.
  • Ability to monitor and track accounts receivable and create collection plans.
  • Skill in preparing annual operating budget.
  • Skill in maintaining a financial forecast and making operational adjustments to deliver profitability.
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of goals.
  • Ability to properly interpret, ensure compliance with, and make recommendations in accordance with laws, regulations, and policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent, supplemented by 3 years of supervisory experience in the maritime or hospitality industry.

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities and other competencies required for the position may be considered.

Physical

  • This position is characterized by typically physically light, administrative work, but does require occasional heavy work requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force repetitively to lift, carry, push, pull and reposition objects.
  • Ability to traverse about a variety of environments and obstacles throughout the marina, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to remain stationary at a keyboard for extended periods of time and continuously operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
  • Ability to manipulate objects and demonstrate small, precise movements repetitively.

Environmental

  • Tasks may require frequent exposure to adverse environmental conditions including inclement weather, sun, extreme temperatures, odors, dirt and dust, loud noises, and hazardous chemicals, etc.

Sensory

  • Tasks require the manipulation of objects and demonstration of small, precise movements, the ability to detect and distinguish various features of ones surroundings, and the ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with others.
