Position Title
Grizzly Adventures - Challenge Course Supervisor

Job Duties
The Challenge Course Supervisor is responsible for the delivery of high-quality Experiential Education Programs within the parameters of the Butler Community College challenge course. The supervisor is responsible for all aspects in the operation of the outdoor challenge course, zip line tours, trainings, and Rock Climbing classes. The course supervisor will design innovative activities and market Grizzly Adventures to internal and external constituents as well as schedule and document the use of the course, equipment and oversee maintenance of course grounds. In addition, the course supervisor will direct, schedule and supervise all staff facilitators, recruit facilitators as needed, and schedule training for new/existing facilitators.

Qualifications

Required knowledge and skills
  • Demonstrated skills in outdoor and leadership activities.
  • Excellent communication skills and group management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • The ability to work outdoors, in all types of weather.
  • Able to work with children and adults.
  • Willingness to positively represent Butler Community College in outdoor programming.
  • Able to think logically and rationally in difficult situations.

Required experience
  • Must be in good physical condition.
  • Teaching/training experience with outdoor courses.
  • Experience in ropes courses, experiential education, environmental education, team-building, community development and/or organizational development is preferred.

Required educational background
  • Associates Degree Required.
  • Successful completion of ACCT Level 1 and Level 2 certification (and annual re-certification).
  • First Aid and CPR certified.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
