Help Desk Administrator

The position is primarily responsible for supporting the user community and the devices, servers, services and applications they use. The Help Desk Administrator reports to IT Manager and works closely with IT staff, management and end users. The successful person brings a friendly and approachable can-do attitude and positive energy every day and is prepared to effectively communicate with all levels of employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

  • Handle help desk requests received via ticket, email, walk up or phone
  • Follow up on outstanding requests and ensure timely resolution
  • Create accounts and configure hardware as part of on-boarding process
  • Maintain basic business devices, mobile phones, tablets, copiers, printers, fax, etc
  • Manage and maintain mobile devices for local and remote users
  • Support audio and video equipment in conference rooms and elsewhere
  • Manage and monitor internal assets to ensure accurate inventory records
  • Work with purchased application users and vendors for support and problem resolution
  • Perform new user setup in Active Directory and O365
  • Work with remote operations teams to resolve escalated tickets
  • Other duties may be added and/or assigned as needed

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred
  • 3+ years in IT support and troubleshooting
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Server, Windows 10/11 products and ability to learn new versions as released
  • Client PC connectivity - ethernet, TCP/IP, VPN, and Wi-Fi
  • Smart device support
  • AntiVirus/spam filter software support
  • Microsoft Office application support
  • Strong Active Directory understanding and ability to apply this knowledge in a multi-domain and multi-forest environment
  • Network experience including WINS, DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP
  • SharePoint understanding and experience
  • Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds and sometimes push/and or move up to 300 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is commonly exposed to airborne particles and gases at low concentrations. The employee is frequently exposed to waste material, feed and hog dust.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends and overnight travel as requested.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $17.00 - $30.00 per hour
