Available Shifts:

  • 10:30 am - 7:00 pm, weekend rotation
  • 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, every other weekend rotation

Responsible for using computer and telephone systems to quickly and kindly answer and appropriately route incoming calls. Responsible for handling and announcing life safety code calls, including the use of overhead public address and paging systems. Also responsible for assisting patients, physicians and staff with general information, monitoring hospital alarm systems and serving as a vital link in the communication process during emergencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responding to incoming calls in a timely manner and directing caller to appropriate destination while practicing excellent customer service
  • Receiving and answering patient information calls providing factual information such as room numbers, visiting hours, etc.
  • Utilizing the overhead paging system to announce emergency and informational “codes” according to established protocol
  • Contacting on-call hospital staff, surgery teams, physicians, and providers when requested
  • Monitoring various alarm instruments for critical situations and paging corresponding codes
  • Responding quickly and accurately to emergency and disaster situations as required

  • Working familiarity with the rules and regulations pertaining to Federal, State and County programs
  • P/C systems literate including Windows, and Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word programs
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as the clear understanding of the English language
  • Detail oriented, with strengths in dealing with multiple facilites, Supervisors, and Hospital platforms
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with efficiency

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience required to perform the job.

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $15.50 per hour
