Human Resources Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY: An HR Specialist is responsible for managing all human resource procedures for the assigned client-group. The successful candidate will be passionate about recruiting, supporting, and evolving employees through our company’s guidelines and managing processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Workforce Planning and Employment
- Implements the organization’s recruiting strategy
- Identifies the hiring needs for client-group and ensures recruitment process runs smoothly
- Oversees the hiring process, which includes coordinating job posts, reviewing resumes, prescreening, and interviewing applicants to identify strong and applicable talent
- Informs job applicants of job duties, responsibilities, benefits, schedules, working conditions, promotion opportunities, etc.
- Administers pre-employment tests
- Assists with completing background investigations
- Processes transfers, promotions, and terminations
- Conducts exit interviews
- Prepares and updates employment records related to hiring, disciplining, transferring, promoting, and terminating
- Enforces consistent progressive disciplinary action
- Administers the H-2A foreign worker visa program which includes filing a petition, recruitment, onboarding, travel, offboarding and ensuring compliance in all aspects of the program (If applicable to the client-group.)
HR Development
- Conducts training sessions
- Develops and administers on-the-job training programs
- Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs
- Maintains records of employee participation in all training and development programs
- Explains human resources policies, procedures, laws, and standards to new and existing employees
- Performs quarterly and annual employee performance reviews
- Identifies, interviews, and maintains files of employees with high potential to encourage upward growth and mobility within the organization
- Creates and executes Development Paths for employees with high potential
Total Rewards
- Analyzes job duties
- Maintains organizational charts and detailed job descriptions
- Performs job evaluations and job analyses
- Assists managers and supervisors in salary management
- Processes employee inquiries as they relate to payroll or employee benefits.
- Acts as the first point of contact to initiate leaves of absences
Employee and Labor Relations
- Addresses employee grievances by conducting investigations for the client-group
- Oversees engagement programs and other employee relations work
- Processes personal requests for leave
- Conducts site visits and travels to various locations as needed
- Conducts an annual review and update of the new hire packet to ensure compliance
Risk Management
- Determines disciplinary actions for workplace accidents and ensures proper documentation
- Stays up-to-date and complies with changes in labor legislation

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a relevant field.
- HR Certification (i.e. PHR®, SHRM®-CP, etc.) a plus.
Language
- Bilingual required. Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in both English and Spanish.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of labor legislation and payroll processes.
- Good understanding of the full recruitment process.
- Strong Computer and Typing Skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy of work.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal guidance, and quickly adapt to change.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to a typical fast-paced production and office environment —high industrial and agricultural equipment traffic, extreme temperatures in an environment exposed to dust, peach fuzz and other natural elements. Employee may be expected to travel to the different locations (within 50 miles radius distance from primary location) to interact with employees in multiple processes (e.g., onboarding, training, etc.).
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, over-time, double-time and holidays throughout the duration of our pack season (May to October); this is critical to support the needs of the business and is subject to change. As needed, the HR Specialist may also be reassigned to other facilities throughout the period of employment. Facilities and fields are located in Kerman, Sanger, Reedley, and Cutler, CA and the surrounding areas.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
