SUMMARY: Generate revenue by soliciting and obtaining orders, understanding, and interpreting technical requirements, providing technical information, and developing accounts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sources new sales opportunities through inbound leads follow up on outbound cold calls and emails.
  • Utilize technical knowledge to prepare quotation packages based on the product content.
  • Must possess the ability to interpret customer requirements, match products to customer specifications/drawings, and ensure that the quote is technically compatible and competitive.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product and technical knowledge base to effectively support the market. This includes understanding the customer’s need, understanding the codes and regulations around that need, identifying the best product solution to meet that need, and offering complementary and substitutable products.
  • Anticipate, meet, and/or exceed customers’ needs in order to maximize customer satisfaction. Promote a strong customer service image to customers.
  • Research accounts, identify key players, and generate interest.
  • Generate new business and ensure growth of existing accounts.
  • Gain and retain extensive product selection application knowledge as well as detailed comprehension of customer's requirements.
  • Manage creation and presentation of quotations for opportunities as they are identified.
  • Handle inbound calls and provides callers with product and service information.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience sizing and selecting valves, especially safety relief valves, a HUGE plus. (steam trap valve knowledge is also a big plus)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering, or related field; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts and designs clearly.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.

  • Excellent problem resolution and consultative sales skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
