Job Purpose and Position Overview :
This position contributes to the success of BigIron, by completing all aspects of Inspection Services Projects in support of National Accounts, Strategic Accounts and large listings as assigned by BigIron’s Inspection Services Manager or the COO. The Equipment Inspector/IPSC, will supervise all onsite aspects of inspection projects including interacting with seller site management, managing contract inspectors, as well as contracted or employee cleaning crews, mechanical repair contractors, and staging crews time to time, also be responsible for technical assistance to the Quality and Listing departments.
Essential Functions:
  • Performs work duties within the assigned work environment related to the position, as assigned by BigIron
  • Prioritizes workload to ensure that all essential functions are addressed effectively, making appropriate adjustments throughout each shift and each work week to meet changing and/or competing priorities when necessary.
  • Prepares for and actively participates in meetings, both on a departmental level and on a company level
  • Ability to coach, lead, manage, and instruct/train employees and contractors
  • Complies with BigIron policies and procedures as published by BigIron and which may be modified from time to time
  • Create and develop a plan to achieve the Company’s sales budget numbers monthly, quarterly, and yearly
  • Maintains a good record of attendance and punctuality
  • Willingly completes other duties and takes on special projects as assigned or as necessar
  • Inspection Services Projects
  • Inspector will complete Inspection Services Projects in support of National and Strategic Accounts, as well as large listings in support of Regional sales efforts.
  • Inspector will manage all aspects of on-site inspection projects including logistics, interacting with Seller site contacts and any contractors deployed in support of inspection projects, and if required, loadout.
  • Inspector will provide technical expertise to Quality and Listings Departments as needed.
  • Inspector will ensure completion of all inspections and/or listings to BigIron quality standards and when applicable, and to the client’s specifications documented in their contract with BigIron.
  • Inspector will ensure the completion of the BigIron inspection checklists for each piece of equipment, and ensure that all necessary photos are collected, if required, and video is recorded.
  • As needed, Inspector will be required to operate equipment to be listed and/or inspected, and from time-to-time undergo equipment operation training to ensure safe operation.
  • As needed, the Inspector will be involved in the interview and hiring of Inspector Contractors, Contract Mechanics and Make-Ready Crews.
  • As needed, Inspector may need to perform “Make-Ready” such as cleaning or detailing equipment before the inspection, picturing or video process can be completed, or be responsible for the quality of work performed by a “Make-Ready” crew.
  • Inspection/Listing Training Projects
  • Inspector will, as assigned, conduct field training of contract inspectors, Independent Sales Reps, Territory Managers and District Managers.
  • Inspector will teach “trainees” on the technical aspects of the inspection and/or listing, the use of the listing app and associated mobile devices, as well as how to complete the work safely.
  • Inspector will contribute to the definition and evaluation of checklists and software built to support the inspection process
  • Inspection/Listing Quality Projects
  • Manages completed listings to ensure compliance with expectations, both quality and completeness
  • Reviews completed listings to ensure Quality Standards are met and, where necessary, correct deficiencies
  • Works with Inspection Services Manager as needed to ensure that inspections are meeting Quality and Listing requirements
Required Qualifications/Skills :
  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience in related agricultural and/or equipment fields.
  • CDL REQUIRED
  • Maintains valid Driver’s license and auto insurance at all times
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and Outlook and other applications used by the Company
  • Proficient in the use of BigIron’s Listing app and Listing Website
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong customer service skills, both internally and externally
  • Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate time management skills
  • Effective skills of listening, verbal, and written communications
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • High degree of integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain a professional and positive work ethic
  • The inspector will be required to travel as needed
