The Installation Supervisor effectively manages the job site by planning, delegating, and communicating with subcontractors that are hired by our internal Project Managers interfacing with general contractor and customers in the Live Events and International business units. The installation supervisors also coordinate with the Project Manager and the onsite customer to aid with the preparation and facilitation of the installation plan.

Installation support:
  • Travel to customer sites by air travel and other transportation to domestic and international locations.
  • Coordination of shipping schedule with project manager, manufacturing plant, and installation subcontractor (prior to shipment).
  • Attend site meetings as required.
  • Assist mechanical subcontractor, coordinate delivery locations, unloading equipment, and staging area for displays once on-site.
  • Assist with supervision of mechanical subcontractor during installation including picking, lifting, and attachment of displays.
  • Assist with supervision of electrical subcontractor during installation including conduit installation, pulling of electrical signal wires, and power termination.
  • Confer with project manager, Commissioning Coordinator on project installation details-problems that arise during install. Also communicate with project manager on installation goals and progress including feedback on subcontractor performances.
  • Perform inventories upon shipping arrival to ensure no work stoppages.
  • Complete contract feedback forms and Daily Summary Reports.
Installation Support Technical:
  • Provide on-site technical support which may include terminating fiber, field repair, testing, troubleshooting, operator training, maintenance training, and coordination with subcontractors. Work schedule may include travel days evenings and weekends.
  • Install and test control equipment. Perform system level testing to make sure all components are functioning and properly configured.
  • Adjust and calibrate display colors-setting to optimize image quality.
  • Document and provide feedback to all engineering product design and manufacturing groups at Daktronics.
  • Training of onsite maintenance personnel, Authorized Service Companies, and other Daktronics personnel as necessary.
  • Represent Daktronics to customers in a positive and professional manner. Use good judgment and make good decisions. Become knowledgeable of and follow company procedures.
  • Completed documentation in timely manner.
  • Professional communication with customer and all key stakeholders is required.
Coordinating subcontractor work:
  • Setting and monitoring the schedule to meet the daily, weekly, and project milestone dates.
  • Monitor and enforce safety rules and regulations and make corrections when needed.
  • Manage risk assessment, incident reports, and other safety documents as the project requires.
  • Responsible to make sure the daily work is well laid out and parts and equipment are available for people to complete work.
  • Need to understand the overall project plan and need to be organized to prepare ahead of time for the project.
  • Expected to have daily to weekly communication to give feedback on the project progress.
General Contractor Customer Interface:
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings with subcontractors.
  • Regular communication with Project Manager, Supervisor, and Commissioning Coordinator for progress updates.
  • Work to resolve issues and escalate by communicating to the correct people to assist as needed.
  • Monitor and give feedback to subcontractors, service partner, and technicians to make sure work is being accomplished in the project time frame.
  • Identify gaps in current processes and work with various teams to implement strategic process improvements.
  • Provide assistance by answering questions and follow appropriate escalation process and procedures to bring resolution to a situation.
Remote Support:
  • Provide technical over-the-phone support to internal and external customers.
  • Respond to customers’ request for technical support primarily through incoming and proactive outbound calls.
  • Provide software application installation/configuration support along with “how-to” assistance.
  • Troubleshoot and solve basic to sophisticated hardware and software technical issues.
General:
  • Work effectively as a team member.
  • Work with little supervision, help when and where needed, make and implement suggestions for product and process improvement, communicate effectively with sales, customers, and service team members.
  • Provide training mentoring to new service staff as needed.
  • Complete quality work in a timely manner.
  • Follow Company guidelines, policies, OSHA standards, and philosophy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and needed to meet customer and department expectations.
Qualifications:
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related electrical, technical preferred, or an Associate’s degree with at least three years Daktronics experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to travel by air and ground, both domestic and international. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked. The majority will be traveling or working on site approximately 80 to 85% of the time. You will travel home every 2 - 3 weeks depending on the type and location of the project.
  • Motivation enthusiasm and the capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in an ever-changing environment.
  • Detail-oriented skills and the ability to problem solve. Capacity to handle multiple tasks and prioritize.
  • Ability to work at heights, work from a ladder, and ability to carry a ladder and/or tools from vehicle to work site. Lifting bending carry up to 40 pounds. Identify various colored wires.
  • Advanced computer skills using word processing spreadsheets data analysis and Internet explorer would be a plus.
  • Read and understand drawings/blueprints.
  • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal.
  • Ability to meet all workplace and customer site safety requirements, which includes following safety protocols related to COVID-19, and may include being fully vaccinated.
