Itinerant Mechanic 1 Job at North Slope Borough School District
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide support and occasionally travel to village to repair District equipment and vehicles. Observe vehicles and machinery both in operation and by use of computerized diagnostic equipment to help determine cause of equipment problems and failures.
Dismantle vehicle and machinery to gain access to remove, replace or rebuild defective parts, using appropriate hoists, tools, and equipment.
Inspect used parts to determined changes in dimensional requirements to dtermine if parts need to be replaced or repaired.
Adjust functional parts of vehicle and machinery and control instruments.
Install special functional and structural parts in vehicles and machinery using hand and power tools.
Regular gas and arc welding.
Limited auto-body work.
Repair or replace auto glass.
Regularly order parts and interview vendors for information concerning product, price, reliability, quality, and delivery.
Conversant in the use and application of computerized diagnostic systems.
Perform such other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the supervisor may assign. Adhere to all District Policies and regulations.

Pay: From $29.88 per hour
