Lab Operations Director Job at Lighthouse Lab Services
Lighthouse Lab Services is working with an innovative independent reference laboratory located in Alameda, CA. This is a Monday-Friday day shift position. This lab focuses on Covid testing, RPP, and STI testing and is looking for a director to lead validations and daily operations. This position will also provide support to the CEO and technical Lab Director. We are looking for someone with previous laboratory operations experience. Running the day-to-day activities and working with the team to ensure the success of the lab moving forward will be key duties.
This lab was established in 2018 and has just over 20 FTE's.

- Ensure day to day operations run smoothly and efficiently
- Lead validations of Thermo Fisher and Illumina platform validations
- Write and revise SOP's and update/train current staff
- Assist with hiring, interviewing, scheduling and training of staff member
- Help market new panels and tests
- Provide support with all laboratory QA/QC and equipment maintenance issues
- Work the bench as needed
- CLS license
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technologist or related science
- Mix of technical and operations experience
- Previous experience validating LDT's on Thermo Fisher and Illumina
- 2+ years of managerial experience
- 150-200k- Flexible on salary for the right candidate
