Role purpose
Peerpoint is expanding in the United States to meet client demand. To enable Peerpoint’s growth in the U.S. market, this role will work alongside the Head of Peerpoint U.S., managing Peerpoint’s recruitment and talent management process, as well as a portion of client opportunity management in the U.S. This is an exciting time for the business and an opportunity for the right candidate to make this role your own.
This role will suit someone who has an innate passion for recruiting and nurturing legal talent, and is confident, authoritative, articulate and adaptable and prepared to take a hands-on approach and flex with business needs as required. Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are needed.

Job description

Role and responsibilities
Responsibilities include:

Attorney sourcing and management
  • Developing and driving direct-sourcing/headhunting campaigns aligned with client demand. This would involve making direct contact with target lawyers, provoking preliminary conversations and gathering and sharing market intelligence.
  • Owning the candidate assessment process, from initial contact through to endorsement onto our ‘best in class’ panel.
  • Ensuring that the Peerpoint management team understands candidate and Peerpoint lawyers’ objectives and the circumstances impacting their preferences for interim assignments.
  • Delivering on Peerpoint’s commitment to providing a Peerpoint lawyer community experience.
  • Playing a key role in the marketing and role readiness of Peerpoint lawyers (e.g. through resume development and coaching).

Attorney placement and client opportunity management
  • Sourcing and effectively qualifying leads and new opportunities from existing and potential clients.
  • Sourcing and ‘matching’ suitable candidates from our panel of consultant lawyers to client engagements, including running commercial negotiations with both clients and Peerpoint lawyers.
  • Close management and support of the Peerpoint lawyers whilst they are on placement.
  • Developing strategic account and new business development plans to drive growth.
  • Working closely with Allen & Overy partners to identify and deliver on client opportunities and transferring client knowledge, intel and value back into the practice groups and wider business.

Other
  • Planning and managing (in collaboration with the Global Marketing team) strategic local and international marketing campaigns, thought leadership initiatives, printed collateral and recruitment and community events.
  • Acting as a champion and brand ambassador for Peerpoint externally in the market at industry events.
  • Tracking, managing and reporting on candidates, panel members and client opportunities using our technology tools.
  • Contributing original ideas to the U.S. Peerpoint business planning process and executing all of the above in a way which reflects a good knowledge of market trends and competitors, and supply and demand.
Team
This individual will work closely with other members of the U.S. and global Peerpoint team as well as the wider Allen & Overy firm community.

Key requirements
  • Knowledge of and experience in the U.S. legal market.
  • Experience of managing recruitment processes in a high-quality, high-touch, fast-paced environment, whether in-house or agency side. Exposure to top tier U.S. legal recruitment is highly desirable.
  • Experience delivering excellent client service and building strong peer to peer relationships in a consultative sales role, including successfully managing a sales process and leading on negotiations.
  • A collaborative, solutions focused mind-set.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast paced and constantly changing entrepreneurial business and willingness to get involved with all aspects of the business.
  • The passion and commitment to deliver to the highest standard for our clients and Peerpoint lawyers.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly establish rapport, build trust and demonstrate credibility with a range of personalities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a meticulous eye for detail.

The annualized base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $190,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on the overall qualifications of the individual applicant for the position and other job-related factors permitted by law.
