Market Manger & Cashier Job at GREEK BOYS CHOICE FOODS
Greek Boys Choice Foods, Inc. is an importer of fine foods & wines from Greece and the Mediterranean. We are a family-owned business with a grocery market in Tarpon Springs selling food & wine from Greece's top producers and manufacturers. Our market serves the Greek community of Tarpon Springs.
- The cashier provides fast, friendly, and accurate checkout services for our market guests.
- Basic math skills and the ability to operate computerized cash register systems, calculators, and scanners.
- Have good communication skills; the ability to take direction/constructive criticism and participate in a team environment.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Assist shoppers in finding items in the market.
- Merchandising and stocking a variety of products and specialty items throughout the day.
- Follow all cash handling procedures, including and not limited to credit, debit, and proper check procedures.
- Maintain balanced and organized cash till throughout the scheduled shift.
- Ensure that quality and safety standards are followed, following proper cleaning and sanitation guides, operating equipment in a safe manner, observing all market rules and company policies
- Shift operating hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday. Availability to work some Saturdays.
Working Condition & Physical Requirements
- Typical motions include repetitive hand and arm movements, repetitive grasping, lifting, bending, and reaching.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, freezer, outdoors, etc.)
- Will be required to spend the majority of time on his/her feet and stand or walk without a break for up to 4 hours.
- Responsible for moving or lifting an average of 10-40 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 60 pounds occasionally
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, ladders, step stools, and box cutters.
