Southern California Kidney Consultants is mainly located in Orange County, with one office in the Paramount/ Lakewood area. We are engaging, supportive, professional and our goal is to develop an intimate clinical relationship with our patients while simultaneously providing the highest quality of care possible. SoCal Kidney was established in January 2018 when Orange County Renal Medical Group and Nephrology Medical Group merged to create the largest Nephrology Practice in Orange County. We have been providing care to all types of patients with kidney disease for over 40 years.

The Certified Medical Assistant position requires the candidate to have a strong level of responsibility and commitment to their career, and an ability to perform basic administrative tasks relating to the day-to-day operations of the medical office. A certified medical assistant should also have an interest in advancement and should be capable of multitasking effectively. This is a great opportunity for a proven medical assistant to join our growing team! Please note that the salary range posted is negotiable based on work experience and there is a retention bonus of $500 after successfully completing 6 months of work and evaluation.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize, maintain and update patient files, including medical records and correspondence.
  • Provide health care practitioners with the information and materials that are needed to provide patient care.
  • Answer telephones and direct calls in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Be able to create, edit, format and layout documents using appropriate software.
  • Prepare documentation for billing, insurance, and other purposes.
  • Prepare documentation for risks, errors, and incidents in a timely manner.
  • Administer treatments as directed by the doctor or other health care practitioner.
  • Maintain accurate records of drugs and other medical supplies used by the practice.
  • Assess patients' conditions; in some cases perform initial treatment before calling doctors or nurses.
  • Explain to patients where they are in the treatment process or why they must wait; check on their condition regularly.
  • Communicate effectively with doctors, nurses, staff members, technicians and other medical practitioners.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
