Janicki Industries is an innovate family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Production Supervisor to join our growing team.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading one or more teams in the execution of all production processes. This position requires understanding of risk assessment and management as it relates to production and safety activities. The primary responsibility of the Production Supervisor is to ensure the assigned work is completed in a timely manner. This includes assigning and explaining daily tasks to technicians; monitoring work progress and compliance with policies and procedures; training and assisting technicians. The Production Supervisor uses judgment independently and makes difficult decisions (i.e. Layoffs, disciplinary actions, prioritizing multiple projects and, hiring employees.) The Production Supervisor will work with the Operations Manager and Manufacturing Engineering to improve processes.

The following essential job functions are performed as a Production Supervisor:

  • Manages processes to ensure that the product is manufactured in accordance with the documented customer requirements and work instructions.
  • Manages priorities and work assignments each day that are determined in conjunction with Operations Management.
  • Coordinates all production activities with Hamilton Ops, Hwy 20 Ops, Project Management and Cell Managers.
  • Provides training and assistance to cell leads on handling risk management, employee issues, work order issues, CDI’s, or other problems or concerns as they arise.
  • Provides Risk management of facilities and work force.
  • Handles all facility related concerns as they arise and resolves operational/manufacturing problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Provide CDI inspections as needed.
  • Utilizes QCBD, SAP and Kronos (to monitor attendance; fix clock-ins, etc.)
  • Works towards continuous improvement by building the technical skills of the team and constantly improving quality and efficiency.
  • Implements standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with JI standards, Safety, 5S, HazMat, AS9100 and NADCAP Standards and Practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Autoclave/Ovens Supervisor Only:

  • Manages resources to maintain the fluid movement of parts and tools through the staging and cure process to minimize bottlenecks.
  • Oversees all aspects of the Autoclave and Ovens including the building and set up/tear down of portable ovens, storage, and maintenance of oven related equipment
  • Sets schedules and ensures rotation of Autoclave and Oven resources to maintain a high level of job performance in each of the disciplines through cross training.
  • Reads, interprets, and follows work orders, drawings and cure instructions
  • Inspects finished cure data for conformance to customer specifications
  • Completes and approves documentation of product, processes and equipment including: cure schedules, work orders, part and transfer tags
  • Manages inventory of consumables used in Autoclave/Oven processes
  • Ensures monthly maintenance is performed and has an understanding of the equipment function under the control of the Ovens and Autoclave Supervisor
  • Works with Operations Manager to fill non-cure work periods for all Autoclave/Oven personnel

Paint Shop Supervisor Only:

  • Communicates with shipping receiving both internally and externally to facilitate the loading and unloading of parts and supplies.

Machine Shop Supervisor Only:

QUALIFICATIONS

Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required. Technical or College degree preferred.
  • At least 4 years in production and personnel management.
  • Must have the ability to multitask. Must have basic computer skills and be familiar with Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Must be able to learn the project management software within 3 months.
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Wage range for this role is between $24 and $48 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
