The Purchasing Manager will oversee the purchasing, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products according to company needs.

  • Organizes the purchase of materials, equipment, goods and services for the production and economic needs of the company, selecting the most economically advantageous suppliers for the company.
  • Direct purchasing and inventory control, as well as warehouse management.
  • Manages and trains supervisors and personnel in the Purchasing and Inventory departments.
  • Based on production needs and previous experience of the company develops, implements, and maintains inventory strategies to ensure deliveries occur within customer timelines.
  • Determines the optimal procurement volumes and types, in order to ensure the most economically advantageous procurement conditions for the enterprise.
  • Searches for new suppliers, negotiates with potential with existing and potential suppliers, chooses cooperation partners, agrees on the conditions of cooperation, controls the fulfillment of the conditions of cooperation settled.
  • Oversees shipping and receiving functions related to purchased parts and finished goods.
  • Creates and maintains list of suppliers, collects information about claims and cooperation history, regularly evaluates the compliance of purchased prices, delivery, material quality and quality of service with the interest of the company.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
  • Identifies opportunities to reduce transportation costs and charges.
  • Manages storage of purchased parts and finished goods together with respective responsible inventory specialist.
  • Effectively lead cross-functional root cause and corrective action teams to resolve operational related issues.
  • Maintain adherence to Company policies, safety/ergonomic standards, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Support/embrace the Company Core Values and Growth Strategy.
  • Day and overnight travel for purchasing and vendor visits including international travel to Russia, Latvia, and China at a minimum.
  • Assist in 5S and safety initiatives and support other lean manufacturing techniques.
Requirements:

Education/Experience:

  • B.A or B.S from four (4) year college or university or related management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.
  • Expertise in MIL specs, ITAR regulations, ISO and ANSI specifications
  • Five (5) years of experience in materials control field
  • Valid Florida driver’s license.
