SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for providing quality planning and support for all product lines and processes, including QMS activities in manufacturing, procurement, vendor quality assessment, trend analysis, and material verification. Ensuring product or service meets the established standards of quality including reliability, usability, and performance

Essential Functions Includes, but may not be limited to the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Quality Engineer will be responsible for completing, revising, and accepting compliant First Article Inspection reports (FAI).
  • Quality Engineer ensures the accuracy and completeness of all engineering design requirements records on the FAI forms.
  • Quality Engineer ensures that the First Article Inspection Record (FAIR) is accurate and completed for a part number or assembly and that all part, product, and characteristic accountability aspects are addressed prior to approval.
  • Quality Engineer focuses on product compliance in support of Product Design and Manufacturing, including the critical quality system elements of Process, Validations and Equipment Calibration
  • Quality Engineer conducts, and documents qualifications, validations, and calibrations to ensure that the products processed are proven to be reliable, safe, and effective prior to release.
  • Quality Engineer assesses equipment changes for validation and calibration needs, co-ordinate validation and calibration activities and schedule.
  • Quality Engineer coordinates return to stock, rework, scrap, and return to vendor activities using established procedures.
  • Quality Engineer processes non-conforming material documentation, and accurate transfers of non-conforming material within PLEX system.
  • Quality Engineer maintains proper MRB/ Quarantine location, keeping the area clean, safe, and organized.
  • Quality Engineer provides visibility to MRB status and movement of parts and material
  • Quality Engineer develops and implements quality processes and procedures using statistical quality control.
  • Quality Engineer determines root cause for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications and implement effective corrective action as needed.
  • Quality Engineer ensures Corrective Action / Preventive Action (CAPA) activities meet specified requirements. Address actual and potential Quality Issues and revise Quality documents as required.
  • Quality Engineer applies statistical techniques, trend analysis and continuous improvement tools on product and process to provide early warning indicators for the initiation of preventative or corrective actions
  • Quality Engineer validates the effectiveness of root cause analysis, corrective, and preventative actions utilizing analytical capabilities and communications skills
  • Quality Engineer review and approves Engineering Changes (ECR’s) for accuracy and completeness of information and impact to customers, including approval policies and notification requirements.
  • Quality Engineer provides technical and quality support to all departments.
  • Quality Engineer reviews and approves material certifications.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technical Field, and/or a combination of equivalent education and experience
  • 5-7 years related experience in the Quality field
  • ISO 9001 & ISO 13485 tier two Quality Management System, and AS9102 FAI
  • Strong Problem-solving skills and good analytical skills to drive continuous improvements
  • Knowledge of quality tools i.e. APQP, PPAP’s, GR&R, 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, MSA, 6M…
  • Good in multi-task management
  • Must be able to take initiative and self-direction in planning, organizing, and documenting
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and testing practices
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Experience Using an ERP System (PLEX)
  • 5+ years manufacturing experience in fast past team environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to use standard manufacturing measurement tools and equipment
  • Experience with CMM, GD&T, DOE, Gage R&R, statistical analysis
  • Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen knowledge a plus
  • ASQ certification a plus
