General

The Center Director is responsible for the supervision of the residential staff and persons served/clients. The Center Director consults with the Regional Services Director as needed. The Center Director maintains close communication with the clinical staff, provides any information relevant to the program’s operation and assist in developing and modifying the program as a whole. The Center Director is responsible to provide 24-hour management of the facility. The Center Director is also responsible for maintaining the company culture.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Must have High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 2 years administrative and management setting familiarity.
  • Communication skills to relate to all levels of management staff.
  • Application of Continuous Quality Improvement/ Performance Improvement philosophy and ability to develop organizational strategy.
  • Experience working in substance abuse treatment preferred

Role

  • Supervises all residential staff members and activities to maintain the highest standards of quality and effectiveness.
  • Coordinates with residential coordinator and residential counselors.
  • Organizes professional development and training in individual therapy, diagnosis and assessment, group therapy and charting/documentation.
  • Monitors and assesses staff morale and develop ongoing plan to build team spiritual and continuity.
  • Participates in the recruitment and interview process to determine the appropriateness of prospective staff members.
  • Maintains records and documentation relative to clinical staff.
  • Evaluates and appraises each member of the clinical staff team based on specific performance standards, in a timely basis. Completes a written narrative during performance or annual review, which identifies strengths and weaknesses, areas needing and improvement, and performance goals to be achieved.
  • Communicates appropriate information from meetings conference and committee.
  • Works with Director of Residential Services to arrange professional staff coverage to meet the needs of the center.
  • Adheres to the center’s philosophy, goals and objectives of Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc.
  • Serves as a positive role model by demonstrating professional and caring attitudes and behaviors toward coworkers, persons served/clients, and guests.
  • Contributes to effective teamwork by combining skills and energies in a coordinated manner, keeping a positive interaction.
  • Makes timely request for annual leaves and reports for sick leave according to Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc.’s Policy.
  • Establishes and achieves realistic goals within position
  • Ensures and maintains the confidential nature of all persons served/clients and facility activities.
  • Maintains an effective organizational structure and delegate appropriate authority for completion of assigned responsibilities.
  • Implements plans for performance improvement.
  • Evaluates quality of program on an ongoing basis and develops cost-effective methods to provide services.
  • Provides for staff development (i.e., supervision, educational, etc.)
  • Facilitates communication with ancillary services and oversees case management services.
  • Attends clinical and administrative meetings to integrate interdepartmental sharing of information.
  • Develops and implements staff schedule.
  • Build positive relationships with staff and physicians.
  • Works collaboratively with the Senior Management Team.
  • Knowledge of administrative, personnel and clinical policies and procedures, and ability to comply and communicate these clearly and accurately to staff.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures; ability to communicate these clearly and accurately to staff.
  • Maintains an effective and efficient daily staffing pattern within budgetary constraints.
  • Is responsible for ensuring clinical staff meets educational/licensure requirements.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment.
  • Follows Infection Control Guidelines at all times.
  • Reports personal symptoms of suspected illness or contagious diseases to the Nurse.
  • Completes and forwards copy of Incident Reports and any other safety/risk issues immediately to the Safety/Risk Coordinator.
  • Provides a safe, therapeutic environment for staff and persons served/clients.
