The Retail Sales Representative owns and delivers sales for the assigned overall territory by developing relationships with store managers/personnel to achieve directed short and long-term performance objectives. This is achieved with a focus on delivering the overall value of retail to include Sales, Displays, New Items and Core Distribution. This territory consists of high-volume grocery stores. Leads the overall Ferrara relationship at the retail level to include store deployment and execution. Activities center on wall-to-wall sales coverage of Ferrara items, including systemic problem solving related to out of stocks, new item speed to shelf, seasonal sell thru, price compliance, and promotion display selling. Responsible for overall territory business planning to ensure meeting and exceeding client objectives.
Ways you will make a difference

  • Sales & Merchandising – Display Selling:
  • Execute against monthly priorities and selling opportunities at store level
  • Sell incremental inventory to support account ads, seasonal events, company priorities, national marketing events, consumer coupon drops (FSIs), and in-store coupon demos
  • Leverage promotional activity to increase Point-of-Sale (POS) by forward-selling displays and national marketing events
  • Ensure Planogram (POG) integrity in scripted accounts and influence POG in independent accounts
  • Use data to identify up-selling opportunities to gain incremental displays/features
  • Verify resets are completed timely and properly
  • Conduct store walk-throughs to identify areas to forward sell.
  • Distribution:
  • Maintain Ferrara standards by ensuring full distribution on all authorized Stock Keep Units (SKUs)
  • Secure additional placement of high priority SKUs with secondary displays
  • Communication:
  • Build and maintain business relationships with store’s key decision makers (KDM)
  • Engage in weekly calls with peers while proactively sharing best practices, solutions, and insights across the team
  • Effectively partner with KDMs to ensure key accounts’ growth initiatives are met in tandem with Ferrara’s
  • Territory Management and Coverage:
  • Effectively manage stores within assigned territory and provide feedback to manager regarding routing efficiencies and new opportunities
  • Develop and maintain business relations with district/regional level and other operations personnel
  • Visit Walmart accounts on weekly basis and grocery accounts on a weekly or bi-weekly basis depending on volume.

  • Ability to analyze financial, inventory, retail conditions and/or other data to adapt appropriate selling approach
  • Knowledge of retail customer operations
  • Proficient computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Power Point, Word and Access and Outlook)

Experiences that will support your success

  • BS/BA required
  • 0-2 years sales related and/or consumer product goods experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift up to 10-40 pounds on a regular basis
