Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare orders for delivery to customers/subcontracted services.
  • Deliver products to customer and subcontractor as required.
  • Train and support Program Participants on processing work within delivery requirements as assigned.
  • Maintain procedures, work instructions and policies as required by area of responsibility as assigned.
  • Act as liaison with other departments internally.
  • Lead projects and quality control processes as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain shift metrics.
  • Ensure assigned staff maintain work areas in clean orderly manner.
  • Order missing requirements (e.g., tools, drawing, PCM, standards and details).
  • Track and status jobs to insure on-time delivery.
  • Provide status and feedback to customer as required.
  • Conduct performance reviews on assigned staff.
  • Manage time and attendance for team members.
  • Forecast work volume, work schedule and staffing levels to ensure business needs are met.
  • Provide support, direction and coaching to assigned staff in areas of training, problem resolution, planning and work assignment delegation.
  • Resolve personnel issues regarding assigned staff (e.g., coaching counseling, documentation, etc.).
  • Coordinate staff activities and makes work assignments as needed to meet production and Program Participant needs.
  • Troubleshoot issues alongside the shipping staff as they arise.
  • Communicate production delays and problems to appropriate supervision.

  • Support all members of the manufacturing and Orion team fully to achieve company, departmental, and personal goals, and objectives.
  • Participate in team and company meetings.
  • Facilitate departmental and company projects as required.
  • Meet safety requirements by following established procedures including:

* Following manufacturing instructions such as work orders.

* Ensuring traceability requirements are met.

* Meeting and documenting inspection requirements.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with ERP systems.
  • Prior experience with leadership role.
  • Depth of knowledge of shipping processes, international and domestic.
  • Organizational ability.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collectively while leading a small team.

  • Frequent exposure to manufacturing shop floor, requiring use of safety glasses.
  • Frequent exposure to excess noise levels, occasionally necessitating the use of hearing protection.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
