7-Eleven is immediately hiring a Senior Excise Tax Analyst to manage fuel tax related compliance and accounting systems, specifically including tax logic and master data setup. Support Fuel Tax Analysts with the preparation of fuel tax related compliance, audit, and account reconciliation reporting from accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Setup and maintain systems used for motor fuel tax determination and compliance. Keep current on law and/or technology changes to identify and implement best practice methods and opportunities for process improvement.
• Setup and maintain tax configurations for accounting systems (PDI) used to record and report motor fuel related transactions. Analyze and evaluate tax related components of motor fuels transactions to identify and resolve errors. Extract and import accounting system data necessary to complete motor fuel tax compliance, audits, and notice response.
• Work with Fuel Operations and Gas Accounting teams to support organization initiatives. Provide potential tax implications of proposals so that the business can make informed decisions.
• Research and advise Fuels Accounting and Operations on the tax impacts of existing or anticipated transactions.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

EDUCATION: Bachelors/4 Yr. Degree

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 4+ years

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Motor fuel tax, fuel accounting, PDI Enterprise, Avalara Excise experience preferred
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a desire to execute
• Effective communicator; ability to work with internal customers and outside taxing authorities
• Adaptable to growth/changing business environment
• Independent and efficient
