The Tap Room / Events Manager will be one of the most important positions at the brewery and will have direct responsibilities as the primary customer-facing position in the tap room and other public spaces. This position requires a leadership-driven individual who works under a range of circumstances, including some weekend work, working with challenging patrons, working in the fast-paced environment of a crowded tap room, and ultimately curating a high level of enjoyment for customers in our public facilities.

Compensation: $45,000 - $55,000 yearly + bonuses & commissions

Responsibilities:

  • Creating a schedule for Tap Room (TR) employees at a minimum of two weeks in advance.
  • Overseeing the TR (setting up and closing down cash drawers, ensuring that all public spaces are clean and ready for patrons, directing part-time employees on restocking/ordering any necessary supplies, and addressing any unforeseen needs).
  • Ensuring that the beers on tap are acceptable to serve (right temperature, optimal quality, no off-smells or flavors).
  • Creating and maintaining a pleasant environment (temperature, music, cleanliness, conduct).
  • Planning and executing special events in the TR.
  • Working with ownership and marketing team to properly market the TR.
  • Working with onsite food trucks and kitchen and assist with catering (for special events).
  • Maintaining accurate TR inventory (glassware, growlers, etc.).
  • Training new employees and maintaining ongoing education related to taproom operations and products.
  • Serving as team leader to part-time staff and shift leads.

Qualifications:

  • Available to work full-time (40 hrs/week), including Friday nights and some Saturdays/Sundays based on the time of year. Regular off days during the rest of the week will be provided based on schedule.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated history of leadership.
  • Prior bar/restaurant management experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of craft beer, including a solid understanding of beer production (Cicerone Beer Server or similar certification preferred).
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to anticipate and proactively address problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work with a diverse set of people.
  • Basic familiarity with tablet-based POS systems and other web-based / MS.
