Underwriting Counsel, South Central Division Job at Old Republic Title
Job Description:
SUMMARY:
The position conducts underwriting for Old Republic Title Company of St. Louis, Inc. as well as all of the states encompassed within the South Central Division.
Hybrid In-Office Position
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Make well reasoned underwriting decisions based upon statutory interpretation and case law for the South Central Division Agents and Old Republic Title Company of St. Louis, Inc. Comply with and enforce corporately mandated underwriting procedures.

At a minimum, the ability to work 8:30-5:00 Monday through Friday.

Regular consistent attendance is required, that could include attendance at after hour Company events.

Ability to accept supervision.

Ability to foster, develop and maintain professional and collaborative working relationships. Must be able to get along with others, i.e., peers, supervisors, outside customers, and vendors.

Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management, employees and customers by email, phone and in person.

Must be personable, positive, and a professional representative of the Company.

Create and perform programs for continuing education.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
-
MUST be licensed to practice law in the State of Missouri.

Law license in Nebraska and/or Kansas are additional states of interest.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

Overnight business travel by air and/or automobile, is required 10% of the time.

Valid driver’s license and auto insurance is required.

Ability to work with confidential information.

Ability to perform under pressure and be flexible with disruptions throughout the workday.
