The Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management provides cross-functional leadership that facilitates an effective operation of the entire end-to-end revenue cycle process. Responsible for oversight of the revenue management cycle to optimize reimbursement and ensure achievement of the company’s financial targets.

Requirements:

Primary Job Duties

  • Provides leadership, management, and ensures accountability among the billing and credentialing team members.
  • Monitors and evaluates current reimbursement/payment rules and ensures that regulatory changes impacting medical billing are anticipated and communicated to the clinical/medical staff, and departmental billing personnel and vendors.
  • Maintain and organize payor contracts (including value-based agreements) to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and to maximize reimbursement.
  • Provides expertise in fee for service client billing & collections around the related aspects of the revenue cycle, & the development of supporting policies & procedures.
  • Develops tools, streamlining functions and creates processes/reports, which will enhance our efficiencies as an agency and the reputation of our agency in the community.
  • Advises and trains clinical and medical departments regarding required state and federal rules and regulations as it relates to providing approved, quality services to our clients.
  • Provides direction and leadership to achieve the organization’s philosophy, values, mission, and goals.
  • Works closely with the Executive and Leadership Teams to develop and carry out major plans, coordinate operations of all divisions to accomplish organization-wide goals, and ensure that operations and services are provide quality and profitable results.
  • Provide provider training in coding and facilitate regular audits of charts to ensure proper contractual and statutory compliance.
  • Oversee Reporting and Data Analytics to provide the Executive and Leadership Teams with optimal information to manage the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Healthcare Master’s or MBA highly preferred.
  • 10+ years of industry related experience with 10+ years minimum experience in a billing leadership role required
  • Previous healthcare experience required; working with physicians and medical group staff required.
  • Previous experience in managing healthcare departments and teams required.
  • Experience with population health or health plan negotiation experience preferred
  • Experience managing a team to achieve individual and shared goals.
  • Quantitatively and financially focused; must know how to read and manage a balance sheet and explain financial data.
  • Experience in creating and managing departmental budgets.
  • Must comply with HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Detailed understanding of billing technical elements such as standard forms and data, coordination of benefit and third-party liability billing and collection, electronic billing, data edit programs, and reimbursement methodologies.
  • High level of understanding of computer systems.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to unify and motivate teams to accomplish goals and objectives.

Strongly preferred qualifications:

  • Insurance contracting/ negotiation a plus
  • Keen understanding of ACO and other arrangements

Physical Requirements

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
    • Prolonged periods of standing and bending
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
