Warehouse OMC(FQ- Tissue) Job at First Quality

We are seeking a Warehouse OMC for our First Quality Tissue facility located in Anderson, SC. Warehouse OMC's will lead FQTSE to state-of-the-art solutions related to automation. Liaison between the Warehouse and Maintenance Teams. The individual will work to identify, along with eliminating barriers to continuously improve the automation operation and reliability through process improvements, coordinating work, training, projects, and preventative planning. This will include evaluating performance of Automation and SGV, looking for optimization. Responsible for counsels and disciplines as necessary. Responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the Warehouse automated systems are operating efficiently on a daily basis. Works with outside vendors as well as all other departments to resolve issues and promote continuous improvements. Closely interacts with Production and Maintenance departments to resolve issues. Assists with training and development of team members. Must be able to make independent decisions carried out with a high degree of professionalism and be self-directed and motivated.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Promote an action oriented safety culture embracing safety as a core value, instilling and exemplifying a safety mindset for all team members resulting in an incident free workplace.
  • Work in conjunction with Quality department to ensure finished product satisfies all finished product quality standards.
  • Participate in developing job safety analysis, risk assessments, standard operating procedures and incident investigations.
  • Owner of RWS strategy (spare parts, PMs, operating strategy/limits, software change requests, etc.)
  • Make major repair decisions with the right people involved.
  • Attend the Planning meeting and scheduling to ensure WO’s get on the weekly schedule.
  • Constant evaluation of the value stream to seek automation opportunities to meet business needs.
  • Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and malfunctions by utilizing working knowledge of programs and systems required to troubleshoot SGV Manager controls. PLCs and HMI’s, etc.
  • Develop KPI’s to meet business needs.
  • Manage performance of the team and includes key input for performance appraisal.
  • Personally follow and enforce with team, all FQT rules of engagement, policies, and code of conduct.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and requests same of teammates.
  • Operate powered industrial trucks.
  • Creates SOP’s and Work Instructions to promote best practices for operations personnel.
  • Works with vendors to develop projects and improvements.
  • Assist in training Operation/Maintenance teams on how equipment works. *Training resource for training or instruction.
  • Work closely with team members to troubleshoot warehouse/equipment issues.
  • Liaison between Warehouse and Maintenance.
  • Own the WO Approval and manage backlog.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years industrial experience preferred.
  • Experience with Automated Storage Retrieval Systems preferred.
  • Experience with operating/managing Self-Guided Vehicles preferred.
  • Experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge, the automation industry
  • Working knowledge of warehouse inventory management tools and principles.
  • Must have working knowledge of PLC’s and system controls.
  • Standard knowledge of pneumatics, electrical and hydraulics.
  • Standard knowledge of product specifications, quality specifications, goals, efficiency, scrap, and production.
  • SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of INFOR or other Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Ability to use Personal Computer (PC) software for time management, correspondence, and reporting.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Ability to operate an overhead crane.
  • Provide feedback to engineering for product improvement.
