HERE’S WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

As an integral member of the Human Resource Team, this position is responsible for:

• Responsible for the intake and processing of claims reports from clients to carrier as well as data entry for workman’s compensation. Requires excellent communicative and collaborative skills
• Evaluate information received to determine if the claim is compensable and if a claim needs to be set up with our insurance carrier for General Liability claims. Requires excellent communicative and collaborative skills.
• Strong auto claims experience. Advise and /or assists management in conducting investigation of accident reports, including interviewing of employees and witnesses. For workman’s compensation claims, liability, and auto claims.
• Compile facts and data regarding accident reports and filed cases. Ensure that all employee incidents and injuries are reported.
• Manage drug testing to ensure that all employees complete all required drug and assessment testing.
• Responsible for keeping employees informed of their work status, requirements, and work accommodation specifications. Work with payroll to obtain wages for the claim adjuster.
• Enter all the claim information in carrier database. Enter detailed notes when speaking with a claim adjuster, manager, attorney, or employee.
• Document the next doctor’s visit until the employee is discharged.
• Work directly with employee and the restaurant managers to facilitate a return to work either on a full-time or on modified duty basis.
• Work with both the claim adjuster and the nurse case manager if required, to manage the claim from initial medical requests to reviewing and evaluating on going medical information.
• Management lawsuits for both workman’s compensation and general liability claims.
• Manage both new and existing claims that are open and follow up with proper parties until closure.
• Accountable for updating OSHA 300 logs for required reporting, including updating the status of open claims monthly and closing of claims as they are completed.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of government safety regulations.
• Process auto accident reports, sets up claim files and report claim to employer’s auto insurance carrier when necessary.
• Obtain field reports and other law enforcement reports that are applicable to auto accident and workers compensation claims. Investigate and gather all applicable documentation and supporting evidence including objects, pictures, surveillance, employee, and witness statements.

HERE’S WHAT Education & Experience YOU WILL NEED:

• High School Diploma or GED; Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
• 2-4 years of workers compensation claims processing experience. 1-2 years’ experience with Liability and Auto claims.
• Strong property claims experience

HERE’S WHAT Skills & Knowledge YOU WILL NEED:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality of all information.
• Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally to employees and management.
• Team orientation with respect for others.
