Title: Navy Pier District Manager
Location: Chicago, IL
Reports to: Midwest Regional Manager


Position Purpose:

The Navy Pier District Manager is responsible for managing the operations, business strategies, and performances for all Navy Pier operations. This includes vendor relations, employee relations, staffing and scheduling, and personnel training and development along with revenue generation, cost management and strategic planning.

Essential Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Manage staff, prepare work schedules and assign specific duties with in a shift to ensure that the venue is set up for a successful operation
  • Determine staffing needs, interview and hire as needed
  • Implement company policies, goals and objectives, and procedures
  • Review sales activity to reports to maintain a successful operation
  • Train and develop staff as needed to maintain a consistent knowledge base
  • Work with Regional Manager to ensure that venue is successful
  • Maintaining positive vendor relations with the Navy Pier vendor Staff
  • Lead and take charge of Navy Pier staff to communicate Photogenic Inc. policies and goals
  • Assessing performance of reports to ensure the development and success of all Photogenic Inc. employees working at Navy Pier
  • Provide customer service by meeting customer needs, and handling any elevated customer complaint

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills, making informed decisions by analyzing information and evaluating results to solve problems while considering the relative costs and benefits of possible outcomes
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff
  • Resolve inter-personal conflict as they arise
  • Ability to manage own time effectively and model strong leadership qualities
  • Collaborate effectively with others to identify and solve problems

Preferable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years in a management in retail, tourism, or a related field
  • Experience running a large team and overseeing several locations
