Sr. Tax Analyst

Job Description

Seneca Financial Advisors LLC is a financial, tax, and investment planning firm looking for an initiative- taking, detail-oriented individual seeking an opportunity in a growing tax practice. This is a position working directly with the firm’s advisors and client data. Seneca Financial Advisors offers objective and independent advice to its clients. We specialize in providing highly personalized, comprehensive wealth management services to affluent individuals, retirees, and families with multiple generations. Responsibilities

  • Preparation/review of moderate to complex federal and state tax returns for individuals and partnerships.
  • Tax planning and projections: Review and analyze all sources of income/deductions, including investment income and capital gains and losses, and project total for year; estimate tax, figure timing of payments, review and update quarterly estimated tax payments; consider tax-saving strategies. Prepare clear and concise emails or memos of tax advice to client advisor.
  • Preparation/review of tax-related analyses/materials for client meetings. Some direct client contact expected.
  • Research federal and state income tax issues.
  • Keep current on applicable tax regulations and changes in tax code.
  • Prepare responses to IRS and state tax notices, including contacting the IRS or state as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; EA, CPA Certification and/or 2-3 years of preparing individual income tax returns.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook; prior exposure to CCH Axcess & SurePrep tax software and BNA Tax Planner a plus.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills required – ability to communicate with clients, partners, and Tax Manager regarding status of work, issues, etc.
  • Able to manage multiple assignments and prioritize workload.
  • Collaborative.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
